Calling All Dog Lovers
Many residents have dogs and appreciate the joy and companionship these delightful pets can bring to our lives.
However, not everyone is a dog-lover and it is important for dog owners to make sure that their pets don't intrude on the enjoyment of other residents.
Some Residential Body Corporate entities don't permit dogs and most that do require that you seek approval, so it is important to check the By-Laws
For those residents that do have approval for a dog, there are a few simple "Dos and Don'ts" that we ask you to observe:
DO
- Make sure that your dog is registered and tagged, as required by Gold Coast City Council
- Keep your dog on a leash at all times when on common property
- Pick up after your dog - bag dispensers are located strategically around HIR
- Dispose of the bags in the designated bins (or take them home to your own bin)
DON'T
- Allow your dog to run free
- Fail to pick up
- Throw used bags into the shrubbery
We have had a noticeable increase in the number of bags left by the wayside or thrown into the gardens and shrubbery, where they are a health hazard and very unsightly. Collecting and disposing of them is an unpleasant task that incurs an unnecessary cost that we all bear ultimately.
So please - let's "Do The Right Thing"
