Anthea Steans

Following the death of her husband, Anthea set up her regulatory consultancy business, offering services to the pharmaceutical industry and those wishing to import and distribute medical devices, complementary medicines, over the counter medicines and prescription medicines. Her main area of expertise now is in assisting companies with the reclassification of medicines, which means changing the classification to enable previously prescription-only medicines to be available as non-prescription or even available in supermarkets and other outlets. She also assists suppliers of both cosmetics and medicines to meet their legal requirements in terms of advertising to ensure consumers are not misled.

Until this year Anthea sat on several industry and government committees related to medicine standards and manufacturing requiring several trips to Sydney and Canberra each year. Working as a Consultant enables Anthea to ‘indulge’ her love of travel to interesting destinations and at the same time meet with clients interstate or overseas.

She is a non-playing member of the Links Hope Island Golf Club and a willing participant in the Hope Island Wine Society.
