There has been some speculation in one of our local newspapers that Hope Island Resort may be included in the properties to be levied to contribute to the cost of two bridges on Sickle Avenue, one of which has been constructed.
At the request of the PBC, CMS has followed up these reports with the Gold Coast City Council and we have received preliminary information that properties in HIR will not be included as one of the areas where a levy is being considered.
Council has deferred further consideration of the levy matter until the 2011 - 2012 Council Budget, and will reconsider the matter in May 2011.
As May 2011 draws closer, more information will be made available on the GCCC website. We will continue to liaise with GCCC on this matter and keep you informed.
